ENFORCE THE FISA LAW. NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY, WHAT MATTERS IS WHAT WE SAY!sm
This week a story already suppressed for year finally surfaced, that for years president Bush has been personally and secretly defying the law.
He has systematically been authorizing domestic spying in defiance of the requirement to at least secure approval from a FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) judge before doing so, a law made necessary by the domestic abuses of the Nixon administration. FISA even allows for approval shortly after the fact in emergencies.
Instead it appears that Bush has unilaterally arrogated for himself alone the powers of all branches of our goverment, to be held in check only by his administration's own obsequious attorneys. What's his big problem with obeying the law? To take 2002 just for an example, "all 1228 applications presented to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court were approved." Anything a judge will not approve our government should not be doing.
